1. Pesticide Formulation Industry

   This is the most dominant application field of calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate. It serves as a core emulsifier in the production of pesticide emulsifiable concentrates (ECs). It can effectively emulsify water-insoluble pesticide active ingredients into stable oil-in-water (O/W) or water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions, ensuring that the pesticide dilutes into a uniform and stable dispersion system when mixed with water. This helps improve the suspension rate of pesticides, enhances their adhesion to crop surfaces, and boosts the utilization efficiency of pesticide active ingredients. It is commonly compounded with nonionic surfactants to optimize emulsification effects.
2. Petroleum and Lubricant Industry

   In the petroleum industry, it is used as a detergent-dispersant for internal combustion engine oils and lubricating oils. It can disperse the carbon deposits, sludge and metal oxides generated during engine operation into the lubricating oil system, preventing them from depositing on engine parts such as cylinder walls, pistons and valves. This helps maintain the cleanliness of the engine, reduce mechanical wear, and extend the service life of both the engine and the lubricating oil. It also acts as an anti-rust auxiliary in some lubricant formulations to improve the rust resistance of metal components.
3. Coating and Ink Industry

   As a wetting and dispersing agent in solvent-based coatings and inks, calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate can help wet and disperse pigment and filler particles evenly in the organic binder system. It prevents the agglomeration of pigments, improves the storage stability of coatings and inks, and enhances the glossiness, leveling property and color uniformity of the final film or printed products. It is particularly suitable for solvent-based systems where water-soluble surfactants are not applicable.
4. Other Industrial Fields
   • Leather industry: It is used as a degreasing agent in leather processing, effectively removing grease from the surface and interior of raw hides without damaging the leather fiber structure.
   • Textile industry: It acts as an auxiliary emulsifier in textile oil formulations, helping to stabilize the oil emulsion and improve the lubricating effect on textile fibers.
   • Household and industrial detergents: It is added to some heavy-duty detergents for cleaning oil stains, playing a role in emulsifying and solubilizing oily dirt.
