T561 is a typical and widely used benzotriazole-derived metal deactivator, specially designed for lubricating oil formulations. It has excellent oil solubility and compatibility with various base oils and other lubricant additives such as antioxidants, anti-wear agents and rust inhibitors, which ensures it can exert stable performance without causing adverse reactions in lubricant systems.
In terms of core functions, T561 mainly plays a metal deactivation role in lubricants. During the operation of mechanical equipment, metal ions such as copper and iron from component wear or pipeline corrosion will enter the lubricating oil. These metal ions have a strong catalytic effect, which can accelerate the oxidative decomposition of lubricating oil, leading to premature formation of sludge, colloid and acidic substances, and thus shortening the service life of lubricants and even causing damage to equipment. T561 can adsorb on the metal surface and form a dense, stable protective film, or chelate with free metal ions in the oil to form inactive complexes. This process effectively inhibits the catalytic oxidation effect of metal ions, delays the aging speed of lubricating oil, and maintains the cleanliness and performance stability of the oil.
In addition, T561 also has a certain auxiliary anti-rust effect, which can help protect metal parts from corrosion caused by moisture and acidic media in the lubricating oil. It is widely added to engine oils, hydraulic oils, gear oils and transformer oils, especially suitable for equipment with copper or copper alloy components, providing comprehensive protection for lubrication systems and extending the service life of equipment.
