Mandelic acid is also commonly known as almond acid, which is a gentle alpha hydroxy acid widely used in cosmetic raw material field. It is extracted and synthesized based on almond-related components, with a larger molecular structure compared with other common exfoliating acids. This feature allows it to penetrate the skin surface slowly without causing strong irritation, so it fits sensitive skin conditions well.

In skincare applications, it has multiple core effects. First, it accelerates the natural shedding of old dead keratin on the skin surface, smooth rough skin texture and fade dull complexion, effectively improving uneven skin tone. Second, it helps unclog blocked pores, reduce excess sebum accumulation, relieve mild acne and blackhead problems, and inhibit repeated pore congestion. Third, it can restrain the abnormal activity of melanin in skin layers, lighten post-acne marks and superficial pigmentation, and present uniform brightening effect on the whole face. Besides, it owns mild antibacterial properties, which assist in soothing inflammatory acne and stabilizing oily acne-prone skin.

Different from strong exfoliating ingredients, mandelic acid brings relatively mild irritation during long-term use. It can be added into serums, toners, exfoliating creams and mask products, and matches most whitening and repairing cosmetic raw materials without obvious compatibility conflicts. It has stable physical properties under conventional storage and cosmetic production environment, and will not deteriorate easily under normal sealed preservation.
