Emulsifying Wax Cetyl GP200 is a high-performance, self-emulsifying non-ionic wax specifically formulated for cosmetic and personal care applications. It is typically a white to off-white waxy solid with a faint, characteristic odor, and it melts at a moderate temperature range of approximately 45–55°C.
This emulsifying wax is a blend primarily composed of cetearyl alcohol and cetearyl glucoside—a plant-derived glycoside emulsifier. This unique combination endows it with excellent oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifying capabilities, along with inherent conditioning and thickening properties. It is mild to the skin and eyes, non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and readily biodegradable, complying with strict global cosmetic safety standards such as EU Cosmetics Regulation and FDA guidelines. Emulsifying Wax Cetyl GP200 is also stable across a wide pH range (4.0–8.0) and resistant to hard water, making it adaptable to various formulation systems.
Main Application Fields
Facial Skincare ProductsIt is a core ingredient in moisturizing creams, day creams, night creams, and sensitive skin care formulations. It efficiently stabilizes oil and water phases, forming smooth, creamy emulsions with a lightweight, non-greasy texture. The cetearyl alcohol component in the blend helps reinforce the skin’s natural lipid barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss and enhancing long-lasting hydration. It is particularly suitable for dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin products due to its gentle nature.
Body Care ProductsWidely used in body lotions, body butters, hand creams, and foot care products. It acts as both an emulsifier and a thickener, improving the product’s spreadability and texture while providing a soft, silky afterfeel on the skin. It also helps extend the shelf life of these products by preventing phase separation during storage.
Baby Care ProductsIts mild and non-irritating properties make it ideal for formulating baby lotions, creams, and diaper rash ointments. It meets the stringent safety requirements for infant skin care, avoiding harsh ingredients that may cause irritation to delicate baby skin.
Hair Care ProductsApplied in hair conditioners, hair masks, and leave-in treatments. It helps emulsify nourishing oil components in water-based formulations, improving the product’s compatibility with hair strands. It also adds a conditioning effect, reducing friction between hair fibers, improving combability, and minimizing static electricity without weighing the hair down.
Natural and Organic CosmeticsAs a plant-derived, synthetic-free emulsifying system, Emulsifying Wax Cetyl GP200 is a preferred choice for natural and organic cosmetic lines. It aligns with clean beauty concepts and can help formulations meet organic certification standards in many regions.
Usage Notes
The recommended dosage in cosmetic formulations ranges from 2–8%, depending on the desired product thickness and emulsion stability.
It should be melted in a water bath at 70–80°C before mixing with other oil-phase ingredients, then combined with the pre-heated water phase under moderate stirring until the emulsion cools and solidifies.
Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures to prevent oxidation and clumping.
