1. Dual function of thickening and conditioningIt can effectively thicken anionic surfactant systems such as AES and SLES. When protonated under weakly acidic conditions, it exhibits cationic properties, which can adsorb on the surface of hair and skin. This allows it to provide excellent softness, antistatic effects and combability, while improving the overall sensory experience of the final product.
2. Strong compatibilityIt has good compatibility with anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants, as well as most functional additives. It will not cause turbidity or stratification of the formula, and can synergistically enhance foam stability.
3. High stabilityIt is resistant to hard water and high temperature, and is not easy to decompose or discolor during product production and storage. It has a wide pH adaptation range of pH 4–8, and its thickening effect remains stable within this range.
4. Mild and eco-friendlyIt has low irritation to skin and eyes, is readily biodegradable, and complies with the safety and environmental protection standards of the cosmetics industry.
5. Easy to useIt can be dissolved quickly when heated appropriately. After being made into a salt form, it can be directly added to the water phase, which simplifies the production process.

Main Applications & Recommended Dosage

• Shampoo (especially conditioning and color-protecting types): It acts as a thickener, antistatic agent and foam stabilizer, and helps improve the wet and dry combability of hair. The recommended dosage is 0.2%–2.0%.
• Hair conditioner, hair mask and leave-on treatment: It softens hair, reduces frizz, improves hair luster and enhances the film-forming property of the formula. The recommended dosage is 0.5%–3.0%.
• Body wash and mild facial cleanser: It plays a role in thickening the product, improving skin feel and reducing the irritation of anionic surfactants. The recommended dosage is 0.3%–1.5%.
• Hair styling products (gel, mousse): It thickens the formulation, improves the ductility and setting effect of the product. The recommended dosage is 0.5%–2.5%.

Storage & Safety

1. Storage conditionsSeal and store the product in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high temperature. The storage temperature should be kept lower than 30°C. Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is generally 24 months.
2. Safety instructionsIt is not a dangerous chemical, as it is not listed in the Chinese Hazardous Chemicals List (2023 Edition) and is not classified as dangerous goods by UN TDG. Avoid long-term contact with high-concentration products. If it accidentally gets into the eyes or contacts the skin, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Operators are advised to wear gloves and goggles for protection during handling.
